I — Intentions: What Do You Want Students to Learn?

This section captures the basic details of the lesson: the teacher’s name, learning area, grade level, section and time, and the applicable quarter or trimester under the three-term calendar. • Subject: Filipino 3
• Competency: Natutukoy ang mga katangian ng tauhan sa isang kwento
• Objective: Sa katapusan ng aralin, ang mga mag-aaral ay makakagawa ng character map ng pangunahing tauhan

L — Learning Experiences: How Will Students Get There?

This is the heart of your lesson plan. Learning Experiences organize the activities, discussions, stories, visuals, group tasks, and hands-on work.

What great Learning Experiences look like in Grade 3:

• Pre-Lesson warm-up — A short review or hook activity (e.g., a riddle, picture, or quick game)
• Main Activity — The core task where new learning happens
• Group or pair work — Because Grade 3 kids learn best when they collaborate
• Hands-on materials — Flashcards, manipulatives, drawings, real objects

A — Assessment: Did They Actually Learn It?

Assessment checks learner progress through oral responses, written outputs, performance tasks, and quick checks. 

For Grade 3, the best assessments are short, clear, and varied. Think of it less as a “quiz” and more as a temperature check: Did my students get it? Who needs more help?

Quick Grade 3-friendly assessment ideas:

• Exit slips (“Tell me one thing you learned today”)

• A 5-item seatwork
• Partner retelling of a story

W — Ways Forward: What Happens After the Lesson?
