Quick Answer: What Is Summative Test 2 in Term 2?

Summative Test 2 (ST2) is the second of two subject tests given within a term. It checks what learners have mastered over roughly the second half of the term’s lessons, before the final Term Examination.

Under DepEd Order No. 015, s. 2026 (the new classroom assessment policy for SY 2026–2027), here is the short version:

  • ST1 comes at about the 16th instructional day and covers the first 15 days.
  • ST2 comes at about the 32nd instructional day and covers the next 15 days.
  • The Term Exam (TE) comes at the end of the term. It focuses on what was taught after ST2, plus selected least-mastered competencies from earlier.

By our count, with Term 2 starting September 16, the 32nd instructional day falls around the end of October to early November. Your exact date depends on school holidays and your own pacing, so check with your school head.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is Summative Test 2 in Term 2 the same as the old Quarter 2 test?

It plays a similar role, but the structure changed. There are now two Subject Tests plus a Term Exam within each term, instead of one periodical test per quarter.

Are these files really free?

Yes. Every file on this page is free to download. You don’t need to register or pay.

Can I edit the files?

Yes. The files are in editable Word format. Adjust the items, update the TOS, and print as many copies as you need.

Are these official DepEd tests?

No. They are teacher-made, competency-based tests. DepEd does not release official summative tests for each school, so always review and adapt them to your lessons.

How many items should my Summative Test 2 have?

For Grades 4–6, up to 20 items. For Grades 7–10, up to 25. For Grades 1–3, the number is up to the teacher.

Does the TOS have to follow a specific format?

DO 015 does not prescribe a template. What matters is that the TOS shows competencies, item counts, and cognitive levels, and matches what you taught.

When should I give Summative Test 2?

Around the 32nd instructional day of the term, covering roughly the second 15 days of instruction. Follow your school’s schedule.
