The National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) is the official training arm of the Department of Education. Think of it as DepEd’s very own university — a government body whose entire mission is to level up the professional competence and leadership excellence of Filipino teachers and school leaders.

NEAP’s training programs are completely free — no enrollment fees, no hidden charges, no seminar fees whatsoever. Here are the biggest NEAP offerings for 2026:

1. NEAP “Future-Ready Starts Here” — Microsoft Copilot Chat Training

CPD Units: Up to 10 units

NEAP launched a massive AI capacity-building initiative called “Future-Ready Starts Here” in partnership with Microsoft. This free workshop trained educators on using Microsoft Copilot Chat — an AI assistant already embedded in DepEd’s Microsoft 365 subscription — to streamline lesson planning, reduce administrative workload, and boost everyday productivity.

The live session was held on May 30, 2026 via Microsoft Teams, with a subsequent asynchronous phase extended until June 21, 2026. The first 100,000 attendees were eligible to earn 10 CPD units upon completion.

What teachers learned:

• Using AI for lesson planning and DLL preparation
• Automating administrative tasks and daily lesson logs
• Responsible and policy-aligned use of AI in education
• Practical use cases for instructional materials and assessment creation

1. NEAP Free Canva & AI Training — Earn 10 CPD Units

CPD Units: Up to 10 units

NEAP also partnered with Canva to offer a comprehensive two-day hands-on workshop focused on integrating Canva’s AI-powered features into classroom teaching. The training was held on June 27 and July 4, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

This workshop covered three major pillars:

1. Design Learning Without Limits — Creating multidisciplinary and advanced Canva-designed educational materials
2. Differentiated Instruction — Using Canva AI to produce varied learning materials tailored to different learning styles
3. Student-Centered Learning — Building a future-ready learning environment through visual, creative tools

Bonus: DepEd teachers and learners can access Canva Education for free using their official DepEd account.

Note: CPD e-certificates for the Canva training are expected to be released 90 to 120 days from July 3, 2026.

1. NEAP Cyber Smart Teachers: Cyber Hygiene Training

CPD Units: Available (Slots limited to first 10,000 participants)

In partnership with HABI Education Lab and The Asia Foundation, NEAP launched the “Cyber Smart Teachers: Cyber Hygiene for Protecting Student Data” training series. The sessions were held on May 5, 6, 12, and 19, 2026 via Microsoft Teams.

This training equipped teachers with:

• Tools to navigate the digital world responsibly
• Best practices for protecting sensitive student information
• Strategies for building a safer digital environment in classrooms

Only the first 10,000 participants per session were eligible for CPD units, so this one filled up fast. Watch for future batches.

2. SEAMEO INNOTECH Online Courses — Free & Self-Paced

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology (SEAMEO INNOTECH) has been an accredited CPD provider since 2017. Their online courses are NEAP-recognized, making them valid for DepEd teachers.

3. LAC Sessions — CPD Units You’re Already Earning at School

Here’s something many teachers overlook: Learning Action Cell (LAC) sessions already count as CPD units!

The PRC’s CPD Council for Professional Teachers officially agreed that LAC sessions conducted in accordance with DepEd Order 35, s. 2016 — as well as school-based training programs — are given corresponding CPD units. This is a huge deal, because it means professional development you’re already doing at your school is bankable toward your PRC renewal.

How to maximize LAC sessions for CPD units:

• Document all LAC sessions you participate in with proper attendance sheets and certificates
• Keep copies of LAC session plans and reflection journals
• Coordinate with your Master Teacher or School Head to ensure LAC sessions are properly recorded
• Request a Certificate of Attendance or training completion document from your Division

4. DICT Free Webinar — 1.5 CPD Units

CPD Units: 1.5 units

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) offered a free webinar with 1.5 CPD units for teachers in May 2026, focused on integrating ICT into teaching practice. While modest in unit count, every unit counts when you’re working toward your renewal target.

5. PEAC INSET 2026 — For Private School Teachers

CPD Units: Available (varies by subject)

If you’re a teacher in a private school, the Philippine Association for Catholic and Christian Education (PEAC) conducts the In-Service Training (INSET) for JHS and SHS teachers in partnership with DepEd under the GASTPE Program.

The 2026 INSET for JHS and SHS Teachers opened registration starting March 12, 2026, beginning with Region III. Batches roll out per region, so check with your local PEAC office for schedules applicable to your division.

6. Child Protection Network (CPN) — CPD for Child Protection Training

The Child Protection Network offers CPD-accredited training programs for professional teachers, including:

• 4Rs Training (Recognition, Reporting, Response, and Referral)
• Trauma-Informed Care (TIC)

These are particularly relevant for guidance counselors, classroom teachers, and advisers dealing with child welfare issues. Note that CPN temporarily paused CPD unit issuance for trainings completed from May 1–31, 2026 for administrative updates — check their website for the resumption of CPD certification.
