Halfway through Term 2 is when many of us start to feel the pace. Your Grade 2 learners know the routines by now, the Term 2 lessons are getting heavier, and you still have to produce a plan for every subject, every week.

This page is meant to lighten that load. Here is everything you need for the ILAW Lesson Plan Grade 2 Term 2 Week 6: what the ILAW format asks of you, how to organize the week across subjects, a sample lesson, and answers to the questions teachers ask most.

What Is the ILAW Lesson Plan Format?

ILAW is DepEd’s simplified lesson planning format for SY 2026–2027. It replaces the older Daily Lesson Log (DLL) and Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) with a leaner, results-focused template. A Division memo from the Schools Division Office of Muntinlupa City, citing DepEd Order 9, s. 2026, announced its adoption for the new school year. deped-muntinlupa

The four parts of ILAW are:

Letter

Part

What it covers

I

Intentions

The competency, learning objectives and the key ideas of the lesson

L

Learning Experiences

The flow of the lesson, from priming learners to guided and independent work

A

Assessment

How you check what learners actually understood

W

Ways Forward

Remediation, enrichment and follow-up based on learner progress

The last part matters most in practice. Ways Forward is where teachers plan remediation, enrichment and follow-up instruction based on how learners are doing. A plan that stops at the quiz misses what the format is for.

  • Enrichment: A harder task or a “teach a classmate” role for those who got it quickly.
  • Follow-up: Note what to revisit at the start of tomorrow’s class.
