Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is October 5, 2026 a holiday in the Philippines?

Yes, October 5 is a special working holiday under RA 10743 as National Teachers’ Day. It is not a regular holiday, so it does not automatically mean no work or no classes.

Will there be classes on October 5, 2026?

It depends on your LGU. Some local government units have declared class suspensions in honor of Teachers’ Day. Check the list above and monitor your local announcements.

Does the walang pasok apply to private schools?

Private school suspensions may or may not be included in the LGU order. Always check the specific advisory — some announcements cover public schools only, while others include private schools.

What happens to learning when classes are suspended?

Under DepEd’s 2026 guidelines, schools are expected to shift to Alternative Delivery Modes (ADM) or other appropriate learning modalities. This may include modular learning, online classes, or take-home activities — depending on the school’s capacity and the LGU’s specific instructions.
